Pet Blogger Challenge

This is my first time taking the Pet Blogger Challenge and answering some questions they put out:

If this is your first time participating in the Challenge we are looking forward to getting to know more about your blog and how you got started. Here are your eight questions:

1. When did you begin your blog?
 September 2009

2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
Various Reasons. I like to write, love bunnies and thought it would be a great place to share about the bunnies, outdoors and life.

3. Is your current purpose the same?
It's similar, but not the same.

If not, what’s different?
I am interested in bunnies and life, but am interested in readers. I figure what's the sense of writing this if no one's going to read it. I love photography and a variety of things along with the bunnies.  I thought I should focus more, explore more, try to get feedback.  I tried to make it more interesting because sometimes I was writing about things that were too mundane to be interesting to others who would read this.  I stopped writing for quite a while and started again after my father passed away in May of 2011. Perhaps it is more therapeutic now.  I started another blog too which is on hiatus because I couldn't deal with the subject matter, but I will pick it up when I'm ready. It was on being supportive of those in the process of grieving.

If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?
I haven't set concrete goals but am seeing more of a need for it. I feel that I am headed in the right direction in trying to get to know what I and the blog are about and what will be meaningful to readers as well. I do want the blog to meet my needs, fulfill some passions- such as helping bunnies, having a creative outlet and using it for sharing and marketing some creations as well.  I feel it's going in the right direction, perhaps at a slower pace than I'd like, but also it's probably at the pace it should be truly. Also I want the blog to be interesting to readers, help others and help change the world a little too. It's a growing experience and evolution as well at this point.

4. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?

Both- I have been trying to be on a regular schedule, but have done it as the spirit moves me as well.

If the former, how often — and what techniques do you use to stick to it?
I make a commitment to myself and to the blog/ and the readers.
If the latter, do you worry about… well, whatever you might worry about (e.g. losing traffic, losing momentum)?
If I stay away too long I do worry about losing traffic, momentum.

5. Are you generating income from your blog?
A very small amount
If so, how (e.g. sponsor ads, affiliate relationships, spokesperson opportunities)?
Google Ads &an affiliate relationship. I want to explore more. I need to earn money, but also am very interested in the integrity of the blog, it's quality, the reader's interests, self satisfaction, helping bunnies.

If not currently, do you hope to in the future — and how?
Perhaps reviews, spokesperson. I am exploring this and am being extremely fussy about what goes on the pages of the blog because I want the quality of the blog to be and stay high, as well as want to be able to truly stand by anything that is advertised or promoted in sme way on the blog. Also, as in some blogs, I don't want the adverstising to take over the blog.

6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular (bragging is good!)?
Creating, Seeing it "published" and seeing it help others- especially bunnies.

7. What do you like least?
Needing inspiration on occasion.

8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2012?
I see it changing by having more focus, finding more ways to help bunnies, becoming more involved in the world of the paws! : )

  3. Hi - nice to meet another bunny person! Although my blog is not specifically about bunnies, it is dedicated to my rabbit who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past year. I like to write about rabbits and rabbit care, and I post a lot of adoptable rabbits on my Facebook page. Hoppy Blogging!

  4. It sounds like you're figuring out what you want to do with your blog in the middle of doing it. Sometimes that's the very best way.

    Good luck in 2012.
