Why do some of us think that it cannot be Christmas unless we are in the homes of our youth?  I grew up in a fairly affluent neighborhood in San Jose, California and for me my best and most favored Christmas memories are centered around this place.  Christmas is celebrated in every country around the world, however we all have our own favored traditions and ideas of just what Christmas is.
For me, it just isn’t Christmas unless you are with family and/or friends to begin with!  This year Johnnie and I are spending the holiday with my side of the family in California!  This holiday is all about celebrating Christs birth.  And birth is definitely about family!
But is there really a Santa Claus?  Here is the question as asked by Virginia O’Hanlon to the editor of The New York Sun, first printed in 1897.
So, Just How Do YOU Celebrate Christmas today?  See how so many others all over the world are and have celebrated Christmas throughout the past on Santa.Net……
Do you like the music of Christmas?  I love music but have to admit that Christmas Music is one of my favorite types of music!  I could not write a Christmas Day blog post and not include my one of my favorite Christmas songs sung by one of my favorite groups!

We all speak different languages and just saying “Merry Christmas” sounds different all over this planet! I wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone so here it is in so many different languages just for all of you, my awesome readers, courtesy of  Santas.Net!

Featured Blog – My Crazy Bliss

There are so many fun things to make for the holidays.  I wanted to think of something unique and fun to put in my windows this year.  This craft is great because it can be used all winter long, not just at Christmas time.  I’m happy that we don’t get snow here too often, but snowflakes go along with the cold weather!

22nd Day of Christmas in the 25 Days of Christmas Blogshare

Christmas is just right around the corner and normally the last thing that everyone is shopping for are those small gifts and stocking stuffers. All those little things you kept saying to yourself that you'd pick up later..... Well 'later' is NOW! Here is a great list of OVER 100 small and inexpensive gift ideas! I don't know about you, but I hate filling stockings and buying small 'filler' presents only to be throwing away those things within weeks, because they were junk! This year I've decided that instead of wasting money, I'm buying things that are either needed, useful or consumable!
Another great idea for coworkers, friends or family is to group some of these items together for a "theme basket". I tried to group the items together as best I could! Here are a few suggestions... Baking, coffee, makeup, nails, art, golf, spa, electronics, car care, etc. Also, considering that most of these items are $5.00 or less this would be a wonderful way to bless a family in need! We will be filling a stocking to send to our World Vision child, but you could also drop off with a charity, a church or a specific family that you know! What a wonderful blessing to someone you could be! And what a lesson it would be for your children!

Interested in Blogging?

Blogging is a trial and error experience for me.  I've been learning some things as I go and from others. I read a lot and try to learn and get ideas from some of the great things I see others doing. In my searches for resources  on blogging I have come across some that I refer to again and again. One offered a class that was really inexpensive, online, personalized and very interactive.

This was from a website on blogging called Blogelina.  It was very user friendly, not too technical (which is good for non-techies like me) and very supportive.  Blogelina offers various services, classes, tutorial videos among other resources. I have been able to make constant improvements on my blog and also have learned what to look for in improving it.  It's still a continual learning process.  Blogelina also lets me go back and use their resources.  I can't do everything at once, but I feel like someone "has my back" while I'm building things up more. I know there are certain things I still want and need to do to the blog, but the fact is that I know what these things are or can identify them. I wouldn't have that ability to judge it without what I learned in my class.

I have met other bloggers through the class I took (and re-took at no extra cost). The other bloggers are at various stages in the development of their blogs as am I.  We have even given each other feedback which has been really helpful.

I suggest that you check out Blogelina and some of the resources there if you are interested in learning more about how do things, getting support and networking with others who are blogging also.

The class is once a week for four weeks each month.  If you check them out, please let me know what you think. Have you taken any of their classes? How was your experience?

You can check them out here:
Blogelina Products & Services

You can sign up for the class here:

One of the best parts of the holiday season is the chance to share special meals with friends and family... but what can you do if some of your loved ones are allergic to your favorite traditional foods? It can be tricky to avoid gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, fish and nuts... the most common food allergens. But take hope! The 19th Day of Christmas in the 25 Days of Christmas Blog Share

Coupons For Wisconsin has joined up with Parga’s Junkyard and many other holiday-lovin’ blogs to bring you tips to get you through the craziness of this season!

December 19, 2011

Featured Blog – Coupons For Wisconsin

Even with everyone looking for a little more help in tight economic times, individuals seem to be feeling extra charitable over the last year. I am not going to go into all the details, but to make a it short, dollars donated have increased 1.3% from 2010 to 2011. Surprising, right? But as more is being donated, more is also needed. Holidays tend to bring more awareness to charities, and donation opportunities are presented at almost every retailer you visit. How do you react to these opportunities?
Do you donate every chance you get?
Do you throw a handful of coins into the Salvation Army’s red bucket once or twice?
Do you do whatever you can to avoid contact with the donation seekers because you literally don’t even have a penny to give?
Just last year, I was in the last category. In a way, I still am in that last category! But I have discovered alternative, more creative ways to give to others besides pulling cash out of my pocket. Join me in the joy of helping strangers celebrate this magical season, and explore how you too can donate on a dime.
